Book Your Mail-Order Demo
Can’t make it to Park City but still want to demo one of our incredible Felt FRD bikes? If you’re ready to buy but want to demo your dream bike before you pull the trigger, our mail-order bike demo program has got you covered! It’s only $599 for a 8-day rental. That’s 6 days on your home trails with any mountain or road bike from our demo fleet, including free round-trip, fully-insured shipping.
We believe you should always try a bike before you buy. We also know it’s not always possible to just pop up to Park City for a day on the bike. The mail order demo program is our answer to that problem. It’s a safe, smart, risk-free way for you to be completely sure before you make a big bike purchase.
- Smart – You wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive, would you? You should always demo a bike before you spend your hard-earned money. The mail order bike demo program makes it possible to do that even if you can’t visit Park City. It also allows you to demo the bike on the roads or trails you know like the back of your hand.
- Risk Free – Because 100% of the $600 rental fees will be applied towards the purchase of the bike, there’s no additional cost if you decide to keep the bike.
- Safe – We ship bikes all the time. All mail order demos are fully ensured and we know how to prep and pack them so they arrive safely and they’re quick and easy to unpack and have ready to ride.
100% of your demo-rental fee can be applied towards the purchase of your Felt FRD demo bike so there’s no additional cost to demo before you buy. Or, you can apply your rental credit towards any new or used bike we carry, including other FRD demo bikes. We carry bikes from over 12 brands, including BMC, Felt, Argon 18, Colnago, Transition, Devinci, Intense and Knolly. So if you decide your mail order demo wasn’t your dream bike, you’re welcome to apply your mail-order demo credit towards the purchase of a different bike. The Fine Print
Mail order demo bikes arrive 99% assembled and fully-tuned. All you have to do is bolt on the front wheel and you’re ready to rip.
The entire cost of the bike must be prepaid. When the bike is returned you will be refunded the cost of the bike minus your $599 rental fee. You can pay with a credit card, cash, check, wire transfer, etc.
We don’t have any restrictions on how you use the bike. It’s OK to enter a race, take it on a road trip or just rally it on your regular after-work and weekend rides. We just ask the bike is respected and returned in the same condition you received it, minus normal riding-related wear to the drivetrain and other wearing parts.
Crash or other riding-related damage is the rider’s responsibility. Generally, that just means the cost of replacement parts. We understand crashes happen and we’re not in the business of fleecing customers for repairs. But if you do break something you will be billed for replacement part costs.
Returning your mail order demo bike is really easy. Before the end of the last day of your 8-day demo call or e-mail us to request a prepaid shipping label. The bike must be shipped or dropped off at an authorized FedEx Ground shipping center no more than 8 days after arrival (this allows you two additional days to pack it and ship the bike). Additional days will be billed at standard demo rates [link] and will be subtracted from the $500 rental fee refund.
Almost all bike damage happens during transport. To protect renters and PCBD, mail order demo bikes must be carefully and adequately packed for return. You can pack the bike yourself or have your local bike shop do it for you but it should be returned packed the way it was received. For insurance purposes, whoever packs the bike will be required to take pictures of the packed bike before it’s shipped (smart phone photos saved on your phone are fine). If there is shipping-related damage and you don’t have photos to document the packing, you may held liable for the entire cost of the bike.
The renter is responsible and financially liable if their mail order demo bike is lost or stolen. Keep the bike in a safe place and lock it securely if it’s on a bike rack. No one wants you to have to pay for a stolen bike.
When your mail order demo bike arrives, ride it like you stole it! We love these bikes and are totally confident they’ll be as spectacular on your home trails as they are in Park City!
